Against The Grain

Local farm goes regenerative, gives back to the land.

United States

Published August 2025

This project focuses on the Jessen Wheat Company in the Southeast corner of Wyoming. Despite the harsh climate conditions, the family employs an organic and regenerative approach, which is very different from the norm practiced by industrial-scale agriculture. Farming in this manner is better for the farmers, better for the consumer, and most importantly, better for the earth where the food is grown. The Jessens use a three-crop rotation cycle and till only when necessary to promote healthy soil and healthy crops.
